My approach to paediatric cardiology and congenital heart disease in children

As a childrens heart doctor dealing with congenital heart disease I am very aware that a rapid and accurate diagnosis together with a kind empathic approach best serves the child and family.

Many children are often referred for assessment following the suspicion of cardiac disease but are subsequently found to be healthy. If a heart problem is found following a detailed assessment and diagnosis, an individualised care plan is created to guide further specialist care.

Many heart problems in a baby or child may be managed in the clinic without the need for interventional procedures or child heart surgery. If these are required, I am fortunate to work with an excellent team as part of my london paediatric cardiology practice at Great Ormond Street Hospital. The care plan created will provide direct access to the best paediatric interventional and cardiothoracic surgical consultants in the country.

My patients make speedy recovery from surgery because of the great surgical skill of the surgeons used, excellent intensive care management and meticulous post-operative paediatric cardiac care. I pay great attention to detail and pride myself on providing technical skill in a very human approach.

If you have a child with a heart problem or concerns regarding a possible cardiac issue and are considering private treatment, I welcome any enquiries or questions you have and I can be contacted directly by email or via my practice manager Tabetha on 07428 133489.
